Cristel Castel'Pro Ultraply 5-Ply Stainless Steel Double Handle Deep Skillet, 8"

The 5-ply stainless steel deep skillet is ideal when you want one pan for high-heat searing and controlled simmering. Use it for browning proteins, sautéing vegetables and building pan sauces or reductions in the same pan. The deeper sides also help keep splatter in check when you’re stirring or whisking.

In this 5-ply stainless steel deep skillet, layers of aluminum are sandwiched between stainless steel to promote quick heating and more even temperature across the cooking surface. That responsiveness helps you adjust heat quickly as you move from searing to sautéing to simmering. It’s a smart setup when precision matters for sauces and proteins.

Yes, the stainless steel deep skillet works on all cooktops, including induction. It’s also oven safe up to 550°F, which makes it easy to start on the stovetop and finish in the oven. Let the pan cool before handling and always use oven mitts after oven use.

The pan’s stainless steel handles are described as athermic and designed to stay cooler to the touch during stovetop cooking. As with any cookware, handle temperature can rise depending on burner size, heat level and how long you cook, so it’s wise to check before lifting. The two-handle design also gives you a secure grip for heavier, saucier recipes.

The 5-ply stainless steel deep skillet is dishwasher safe for convenient cleanup. For stuck-on bits, a soak in warm, soapy water and a nonabrasive scrubber usually does the trick. Stainless steel can develop discoloration over time from high heat, which is normal and does not affect performance.
