Chilewich Tambour Placemat in Ivy

The layered-weave placemat design creates a pattern with depth, so you notice stripes within stripes as you move around the table. It reads lively but stays visually easy, which helps it complement both simple and more detailed dinnerware.

The Tambour placemat is a great everyday base for place settings when you want the table to look finished without extra effort. It is especially nice for quick weeknight dinners when a little color and pattern make the meal feel more intentional.

Yes. The Tambour placemat works well for outdoor lunches when you want an easy layer that adds color and helps define each place setting. Pair it with casual serving pieces for a relaxed, pulled-together look.

Try to take care of spills soon after they happen, especially with foods that can leave color behind. For best results, follow any care and cleaning guidance included with your placemat, since materials and finishes can vary by style.

Let the Tambour pattern be your visual anchor, then keep the rest of the table either solid or quietly textured for balance. It also plays nicely with simple stripes or subtle speckles, since the pattern has structure without feeling overly busy.
